FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Increased Attendance at the 2012 Home Building & Remodeling Expo

(Waukesha, Wis.) January 16, 2012 – Approximately 7,500 visitors attended the 2012 Home Building & Remodeling Expo Jan. 5-8 at the Frontier Airlines Center in downtown Milwaukee. The attendance outpaces last year’s figure by nearly 1,500 people.

Featuring more than 120 exhibitors and vendors, the Expo, produced by the Metropolitan Builders Association, brought together the area’s premier home builders, remodelers, designers, and contractors to share innovative ideas, trends, and looks with interested consumers.

“The increased attendance from last year and the quality of people involved with the event demonstrates that the market is clearly improving,” said MBA Executive Director Kristine Hillmer.

Cooking demonstrations, interior design galleries, an indoor landscaping competition, dancing, music, and a children’s play gallery built on the Expo’s theme of building lifestyles, not merely houses.

Celebrity interior designer Lori Dennis, who will be featured on HGTV’s “The REAL Designing Women” in June, spoke twice during the weekend on the hottest trends headed toward the Midwest. Milwaukee-based gardening expert Melinda Myers also presented at the Expo.

Most importantly, many exhibitors felt the visitors were getting serious about new building and remodeling projects. Several independently mentioned the “quality” of consumers coming to their booths, who were looking for contractors relatively soon.
