(Waukesha, WI) December 31, 2008 –The Metropolitan Builders Association will once again feature the latest trends in landscaping design through the 9th Annual MBA Landscaping Competition at the Home Builder Expo. Two area landscapers, Aquatica, LLC and Stone Oak Landscapes, Inc., will compete in the challenge of turning a 20 x 20 plot in the exhibit hall into a landscaping phenomenon.
Expo patrons are encouraged to cast their vote for the most visually appealing landscape. Ballots can be found near the landscaper competition area or at the MBA Information Pavilion.
The MBA launched its landscaping competition as part of the 2001 Home Builders Expo. The contest has showcased the talent of numerous area landscaper members over the years and has generated excitement among consumers looking for the latest trends and designs in landscaping.
“With the rapid growth of spending on residential landscaping in recent years, landscape designers have become important players in the home building industry,” says MBA Executive Director, Chellee Siewert. In addition to the Landscape Design Contest, this year’s Expo will feature a free consumer seminar with speaker Patrick Devereux of Stone Oak Landscapes titled “Landscape Shouldn’t Happen Five Years Later” on Saturday, January 10th at noon.
The Home Builders Expo is presented by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and will be open Thursday, January 8th from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 9th from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, January 10th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, January 11th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10.00 at the door, $9.00 at MBAonline.org, or $8.00 at advanced ticket sellers or with donation of 2 non-perishable food items at the door. Admission for children 12 and under is free.
