MBA Announces Educational Courses
Offered During June
(Waukesha, WI) – May 23, 2007 – In today’s competitive business climate, it is critical for developers, builders, remodelers, and those affiliated with the construction industry to be able to separate themselves from the competition. That’s why the MBA introduced our Certified Construction Professional program in 2004. A CCP designation speaks to an individual’s dedication to continuing education as well as his or her dedication to the customer and the home building industry. Educated professionals are more likely to educate their customers on the latest technologies available in the home building industry. Professionals who are constantly learning and challenging themselves are not afraid to share new techniques and applications with their customers. The MBA is proud to report that in the third year of the CCP program, over 400 MBA members are well on their way to certification.

June 7th – Job Costing
Presented by: Mark Widmann, Sitzberger, Widmann & Co.
Learn how to distribute material and expenses to an individual project through job costing techniques. This session will cover budgeting, forecasting, collecting, and reporting on the expenditure and revenue associated with specific projects.

June 14th – Contractor's Right to Repair/Lien Law
Presented by: Brian Pfeil, McNally, Maloney & Peterson S.C. and Kim Hurtado, Hurtado, S.C
Effective October 1, 2006, builders are required to provide a brochure to each owner regarding this new law. An owner of residential property asserting a construction defect claim against a builder or contractor would be required to first deliver written notice to the contractor containing a description of a claim with supporting evidence, and to provide the builder with the opportunity to repair or remedy the defect. A MUST seminar for all MBA builders and remodelers. Also, this is your chance to refresh your knowledge and learn about upcoming changes to the lien laws. Every industry professional needs to stay on top of this law.
