One of the important aspects of building green is utilizing locally produced materials. The long distance transport of building materials can be very energy intensive. As you can see from the locations of the companies involved in this build, we are doing our best to utilize both local companies and product.

Many trades and craftsmen are working together in the construction of the Wisconsin Trend Home™, which is being built as both an educational and philanthropic venture. The Wisconsin Trend Home™ was designed to show that technologies that will be typical in homes in the year 2020 can and should be utilized today. It is the WBA Foundation and the MBA’s belief that the Wisconsin Trend Home™ has the potential to make a large educational impact on the citizens of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin homebuilding industry. Now that the foundation is in, we look forward to the revealing the additional technologies that we’ve captured in this energy efficient and resource friendly home.
