Ed Sanders is Coming to the 2007 Home Builders Expo

(Waukesha, WI) January 2, 2007 – Ed Sanders, a designer on the hit TV show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will be hosting two question and answer sessions, each followed by an autograph session, at the 18th annual Home Builders Expo at the Midwest Airlines Center on Saturday, January 6th.  The first question and answer session will be held from 11:00 a.m. to noon; the second will be held from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Both sessions will be followed by ½ an hour for autographs.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition transformed the Koepke family home of Dundee, WI in October of 2006. Sanders was an integral part of this team,” said Matt Moroney, Executive Director of the MBA. “Having him at the Expo is like welcoming home family. Sander’s building skills set him apart, and his personality shines through in all his appearances. The Koepke family will be joining Sanders at his appearances.”

Originally from London, Sanders discovered he had a love for acting at an early age. By 16 he decided that he wanted to make his living at it. He knew that the life of an actor was not an easy one, so he decided to develop a skill that would allow him to stay busy in-between acting jobs. His father told him, "If you want to carry on acting why don't you get some kind of trade behind you?" He spent the next three years in technical college learning the art of carpentry. During his last year, he studied advanced joinery, where he perfected his skills in cabinet making and other high quality finishing carpentry. He continued to work in the building industry while balancing his acting career. Often, he found himself finishing a play and then returning to a building site, which he says would always keep his feet firmly on the ground.

The Home Builders Expo will be open Thursday, January 4th from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 5th from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, January 6th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, January 7th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $7 through advance ticket sellers or $8 at the door (patrons receive $1 off the door price when they bring two non-perishable food items).
