Anders Lewis Inducted Into the Metropolitan Builders Association Hall of Fame on November 8, 2007

(Waukesha, WI) – November, 2007 – The Metropolitan Builders Association originally created its Hall of Fame to honor those members who generously share their knowledge, their time, and their resources with the MBA over a lifetime of work. Honorees are members who have truly changed the face of the housing industry. The MBA was honored to induct Anders Lewis who exceeded the criteria required for the Hall of Fame Award at the Annual Installation Dinner on November 8th, 2007.

Anders Lewis has been an MBA member for 32 years. During that time, he served on the Construction Arbitration Board for thirty years ( Chairman 2 years). He also dedicated his time to the Industry Standards Committee (Chairman 8 years), the Parade of Homes Committee (Chairman 1 year), the Forms Committee, and the Membership Committee. Anders won top awards in the Parade of Homes seven years in a row. As much as consumers knew him for his beautiful homes and the trustworthy manner in which he conducted his business, his business philosophy also made a big impact on many MBA members. He relished in his role as mentor – both to past employees, and fellow MBA members. His commitment and contributions to the MBA Construction Arbitration Board were unprecedented and made him an inspiration to many.

While he accomplished much in his career, Anders remained humble, even upon being nominated for this prestigious award. It was Anders’ own words that were called upon at the awards presentation on November 8th to give MBA members a glimpse of this remarkable man: “I feel like a small fish in a big pond and I probably do not deserve this award. What I did do, that I hope helped the industry a little bit, was build good houses and pay my bills. In those 30 years I never went to court or arbitration and never hired an attorney. I hoped those satisfied customers who were handled with respect and treated fairly (and that example to other builders) would have a positive effect on the industry in some small way.”

The MBA extends our congratulations to Anders Lewis and looks forward to celebrating the contributions of other dedicated members in the years to come.
