The MBA advocates on behalf of builders, developers, and remodelers.

Government Affairs
Government Affairs lobbies state and local governments as well as many regional organizations/agencies on issues impacting the housing industry. Issues can include changes in land use, environmental regulation, and development and building fee efforts.

Become politically active and have your voice heard
As a member, you will have the opportunity to give politically through the Association’s Political Action Committee and Conduit which further supports our industry.

  • Political Affairs Committe
Composed of individuals interested in promoting building issues through the political process. Members make candidate endorsements for federal, state and local elections. The committee is responsible for planning fundraisers and allocating funds through the MBA's political actions fund, the Building A Better Government Committee.
  • Developers Council
Composed of apartment, condominium, residential and commercial builders and land developers who discuss common problems on pertinent issues. Acts to increase the MBA's influence in area municipalities, local & state elected officials, and the general public by disseminating information on important industry-related issues such as impact fees, zoning requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Code Committee
Composed of individuals interested in the State Building Code. It reviews proposed changes to the code, makes recommendations to the UDC Council, and evaluates current building practices.

Monthly updates about current issues is also provided in the MBA’s newsletters - Building Blocks, and Monday Memo.
