Located to the south of Greenfield, west of Oak Creek and bounded by the north and south side of Racine and Waukesha Counties, Franklin is a city covered with heavy timber and filled with an abundance of wildlife. The city is located in Milwaukee County and is only a twenty-minute drive north-east from downtown Milwaukee.
Franklin boasts the savanna remnants, one of the rarest prairies Wisconsin and the Great Lakes Region. Carity Land Corporation is preserving the prairie as part of their Prairie Grass Preserve subdivision. The savanna remnants will become home to the 2005 Parade of Homes as part of the subdivision.

About the Prairie Grass Preserve Subdivision
Carity Land Corporation, in developing the Prairie Grass Preserve subdivision, is helping to preserve one of the rarest prairies in the Wisconsin and Great Lakes Region. This unique environment feature sets the stage for the prairie landscape theme at the entrance of the subdivision and all landscaped cul de sacs. Residents will be encouraged to follow the natural prairie landscape theme on their homesites therefore creating a truly unique subdivision in the City of Franklin.
Prairie Grass Preserve is a community consisting of 36 single-family lots and 29 two-family lots. Single-family lots have widths well over 100' feet and are from 170' to 220' deep. Over 30 acres of open space will be permanently preserved. The subdivision features six ponds, which are scattered throughout.
Prairie Grass Preserve provides a number of features for the nature lovers. These features include winding walking trails, numerous ponds and vast open space to enjoy the surrounding prairie.
