Welcome to the 2006 Home Builders Expo
Mark your calendars now for the Metropolitan Builders Association's Home Builders Expo 2006. This show has become the largest, most comprehensive home show in Wisconsin. With over 800 booths and over 350 exhibitors last year, we've totally redesigned our floor plan to make room for the most Home Builders Expo exhibitors ever. The 17th annual show runs Thursday, January 5th - Sunday, January 8th at the Midwest Airlines Center. Home Builders Expo features all of the products and services you need for new construction, remodeling, or any home improvement project. In addition, an annual landscape contest showcases the newest and best landscape options.
"We are really excited about this year's show," said MBA Executive Director Matt Moroney. "Many people think that the Home Builders Expo is just for people looking for a builder or remodelor. What they don't realize is that the show also features all of the products and services you will need for new construction, remodeling, or any home improvement project."
"The last two years we have sold out our exhibit space which gives consumers more exhibitors to choose from. We are currently ahead of pace after redesigning the floor layout to allow for a bigger show. This is a testament to the high quality of our show," said Moroney.
In addition to the large variety of products and services available, the 2006 Home Builders Expo will feature:
Landscape Contest - The MBA will once again feature the latest trends in landscaping design through the 6th Annual MBA Landscaping Competition at the Home Builders Expo. Three area landscapers have accepted the challenge of turning a 20 x 20 plot in the exhibit hall into a landscaping phenomenon.
MBA Launches New Construction and Lot Inventory Map - A new comprehensive resource on the MBA website launches which allows consumers to search for models, spec homes, and lots for sale. The website allows consumers to search by community, school district, price range, drive time analysis and more.
Ultimate Backyard Giveaway - Consumers can register to win the ultimate backyard giveaway package including landscaping, a play set, patio set, and more.
Food House sponsored by Weather-Tek Design Center - Non-perishable food items collected at the Home Builders Expo are used to build a house throughout the show. Food items collected will once again be donated to the Hunger Task Force.
Habitat for Humanity Home Builders Blitz Participants Meet Their Families Twelve MBA builders will be constructing 10 homes in one week in June, 2006 as part of Habitat for Humanity's national campaign - Home Builders Blitz. Builders will be meeting the families they are building homes for on Thursday, January 5.
Consumer Seminars - FREE consumer seminars will cover a wide-range of topics including how to choose a builder or remodelor, landscaping and decorating ideas and trends, and financing your dream. Presented by industry experts and celebrity presenters, the classes are the first of a series to be offered all year long.
"The Home Builders Expo serves as a great starting point for anyone who is looking to build, remodel or improve their home," said Moroney. "After attending the Expo, consumers need to continue to turn to the MBA and its resources." Members of the MBA are expected to adhere to the industry standards and the Association's code of ethics. If a problem or misunderstanding emerges, the MBA can take action if a member is involved. If someone is not dealing with a member then that individual is left on their own to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to resolve problems with non-members.
The Home Builders Expo will be open Thursday, January 5 from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 6 from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, January 7 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, January 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $7 through advance ticket sellers or $8 at the door (patrons receive $1 off the door price when they bring two non-perishable food items for the Food House.).
