Tools of the Trade
Brick/Stone/Veneers
This seminar will explore typical and best practice installations ofresidential masonry veneers comprised ofclay brick, concrete brick, full bed-depth stone, and adhered veneers. Attendees will learn what to expect from their mason contractors in term of quality, usual and customary practices, and actual code language.
Product Trends in Insulation & HVAC
Builders across the country are using or are considering the use of Spray Foam Insulation to deliver high performance buildings the marketplace and codes demand. This presentation is designed to provide Builders an understanding of Spray Foam Insulations along with real world application and code compliance issues.

This session will focus on product trends within the Carrier brand and the broad product industry – with aspects on green building and indoor air quality.
EIFS/STUCCO
This seminar will provide an understanding of the basics needed to have a a good installation for both a Stucco system and an EIFS Residential Drainage System. Part of knowing the correct methods is to first understand there are basic standards one should follow. In developing a project using either of these exterior claddings one must consider the critical details that meet the needs of a proper installation for the project as well as the manufacturer’s directions to get a warranted system.
Construction Safety
Safety on the jobsite can save you substantial dollars and many headaches. The Milwaukee OSHA office has been inspecting more residential sites each year. They are not only looking for violations, but also looking at your safety plan and how it is implemented. This class is intended to help builders, remodelors, subcontractors, and suppliers with the basics of establishing and implementing a safety plan. The new standard MBA Trade Contractor Agreement places an emphasis on a safe jobsite and your plan is a crucial element of complying with this requirement.

Product Trends in Manufactured Wood and Concrete Technology
This program provides an overview of green building features of various concrete and wood homebuilding technologies. These systems will be discussed within the context of the various Residential Green Building Systems and Standards that have recently been developed. Attendees will learn about the sustainable impact of various cement based residential technologies for the home as well as its site. The benefits of concrete walls, floors and roofs, pervious pavements, decorative stamped and colored floor finishes will be featured. Also discussed will be exterior options like concrete roof tiles, fiber cement siding and stucco. Braced Wall Line/Braced Panel Service to Builders will be discussed of all wood products with features such as 12” wide wood panel and a 20’ tall panel if required. iLevel by Weyerhaeuser will talk about the approach they take with the Shear/Brace Panels, as well as new products, and the most cost effective wall pricing available.
Masonry & Concrete Standards
The seminar will be highlighting the best practices of foundation construction in general with an emphasis on poured concrete construction. The empirical information will be based off of American Concrete Institute advisories. It will touch upon details related to common construction situations such as window openings, soil types and loads, tall walls, water mitigation, and footing height changes to name a few.

New Stormwater Regulations for Builders
This session will be a general overview of Construction site Erosion and Sediment Control, Post Construction Stormwater Management Implementation rules and submittal requirements. The primary focus will be on the UDC requirements but will touch on the commercial building rules (Comm 60) as well.
