Pitching in to Help The Women's Center
Safe, affordable housing is something most of us take for granted. Yet, for those in situations involving domestic violence, it is a lifeline to independence and a new beginning. Located in Waukesha, The Women’s Center offers emergency shelter, transitional living, counseling, child abuse prevention programs, legal advocacy and employment counseling for hundreds of women and children every year.
As part of the MBA’s Community Outreach 2012, the MBA Women’s Council and MBA Remodelers Council have embraced the rehabilitation of four homes in Waukesha that are part of The Women’s Center’s Transitional Living Program. Now, we’d like to ask all MBA members to “Pitch In.”
We are already underway with minor repairs to three of the homes. However, remodeling and conversion of the fourth into a duplex is a much larger scale project. The scope of the planned work exceeds the funds and building supplies currently donated. This is where we need your help.
As you are well aware, the construction process involves a range of materials, countless hours and significant funds. The members of the MBA are a generous group and we know that we can count on your support to help complete this $150,000 project. Click here for details on how you can “Pitch In,” or contact one of us directly.
On behalf of the MBA and The Women’s Center, we thank you for your consideration!
