June 9, 2006 - Day Five

The homes are ready for their families!

It's day five and the homes look great. Minor finishing details were taken care of today as the builders and their subcontractors kicked it into gear yesterday, with everybody finishing ahead of schedule. Habitat for Humanity CEO Jonathan Reckford visited the site in the morning and enjoyed a luncheon with all the volunteers. He, like everyone involved in the Blitz, had to be impressed with the finished homes.

A closing ceremony at 6:00 p.m. will bring together families, builders, donors, and local officials to celebrate the completion of all ten homes.

Congratulations to everyone involved in Home Builders Blitz 2006. What a wonderful way to demonstrate that the spirit of community is still alive and well.
